  • What he continued to read touched his heart so profoundly that the next day as soon as he woke up he called me to share what had happened and how he felt. It turned out that the love note was an anonymous loving note to whomever would have found it.
  • That weekend four of us got together and went out on the streets of Brighton. It was so simple, so powerful and so much fun. We didn’t know then how profound this act truly was and none of us had ever written anonymous love letters in this way before.
  • This may sound clichéd but I am telling you this loving ripple was doing us; this force was taking ‘us’ on a journey not the other way around. What happened next was what drove me personally to continue this simple act of love up until this day.

The Idea

How It Works

  1. Pick up a pen, paper, and an envelope.
  2. Address the letter “For You” and sign it “I Love You”.
  3. Pour your love and good wishes onto the page. Seal it.
  4. Leave it somewhere – on a bench, a train seat, a library shelf. Someone will find it when they need it most.

This isn’t a new idea. It’s a timeless one – because love, especially in its purest and most anonymous form, is something we all understand. It’s creative. It’s healing. And it’s exactly what the world needs more of right now.

  • The global love movement is truly amazing! I regularly write love letters and I really feel it is something inspirational and meaningful, that everyone should do. Global love letters allows us to celebrate the sheer joy of holding love in our hearts, allowing this deep love to awaken and bloom! Giving us greater appreciation, respect and love for all.

  • So, yesterday, coming home from Manhattan… I had written twelve anonymous love letters. It just felt incredible! I have yet to see anyone discover my notes, as I am usually leaving after I try to place them without being seen (for the surprise element). It would be fun to sit nearby and watch the reactions. I highly recommend it, it’s good for the soul and your mood. Better than anti-depressants, it just feels great!

  • I call it “love bombing” when I drop off the notes. It’s fun trying to stealthily leave them in places. I love “feeling” where they should go. Also the mere act of writing is soothing to my soul. I am not sure if the people who receive them are getting nearly as much out of it as I am.

  • I delivered 3 letters on my way back from the Mind Body Spirit festival today, on 3 different trains. I saw one being opened a few stops after I got on, a young guy looked around opened the letter, smiled and read it, then put it back in the envelope, resealed it and put it back where it was. Whatever was written in that letter will travel to another heart!
